A weeded book from the library system (“Bibliothekssystem”) of the Justus Liebig University in Gießen (Germany). “Ausgesondert” – the second stamp – means ascertained. Interestingly the city of Gießen is written as “Giessen”. The “ß” is a letter used in German – but not in the german parts of Switzerland – which could be translated into a double-s, but that doesn’t happen in German very often.
The “Seminar für Deutsche Literaturwissenschaft” is the seminar for german literary studies. This simple stamp is also found in the same book as the other stamp.
- And a simple “Ungültig” (invalid) stamp. Funny how the beginning of a “library life” of a book starts with a stamp and the end of this “library life” ends with another stamp.
